Biography

Natasha Korsakova is an international violinist and author. The German Süddeutsche Zeitung describes her ability to play the violin as a “sinfully beautiful listening experience”. The Swiss based violinist speaks five languages is a coveted guest for national and international music festivals and concert events.

The award-winning artist has appeared in many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls. She has performed with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano G.Verdi, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Tainan Symphony Orchestra, the Regina Royal Symphony, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Dutch Radio Broadcasting, the Mainz and the Duisburg Philharmonic, the Orquesta della UNAM and Queretaro Philharmonic (Mexico), the Cape Cod Symphony and many others.

Natasha Korsakova became “Artist of the Year” in Chile and Italy. She was awarded the «Premio Sirmione Catullo» and performed in Palazzo Quirinale and at the famous Piazza Campidoglio in Rome, in the presence of the Italian State-President. Natasha Korsakova is a cultural ambassador of “Fondazione Sorella Natura” in Assisi, Italy. In the connection with the Audience for Fondazione Sorella Natura, she played for the Pope Benedict XVI at the Sala Nervi in Vaticano, together with the outstanding Swiss violinist Manrico Padovani.

Her repertoire includes over 60 concertos for violin and orchestra as well as countless works of chamber music.

In the USA, Natasha Korsakova is the Artist in Residence for the Carolina Philharmonic and Orchestra 2100 and performs regularly for both. A passionate communicator, she is often invited for guest-appearances at the German and Italian TV-transmissions and talk shows for programs ARD, BR, RAI and SKY.

Natasha Korsakova’s first crime-novel, “Deadly Sonata”, was published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by Penguine Random House (Heyne Verlag). Meanwhile it’s been translated in several languages. In Italy, the novel was recently awarded with the coveted „Premio Edoardo Kihlgren for European Literature“ and „Magna Grecia Award“. 

Her following book, „Römisches Finale“, was published one year later. In March 2023, “Di Bernardo” will be published by the Septime Verlag (Austria).

As an author, she regularly makes guest appearances at major literary festivals in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. She is unique as an author in that she frequently plays classical music pieces at her book readings and presentations.

The artist of a Greek-Russian origin was born into a music family in Moscow and began playing the violin at the age of 5. Her first teacher was her grandfather Boris Korsakov. He was followed in her musical education by her father, the well-known Russian violin virtuoso Andrej Korsakov. Her mother is the pianist Yolanta Miroshnikova-Caprarica. After the early death of her father, Natasha Korsakova studied under the tutelage of Prof. Ulf Klausenitzer in Nuremberg and then later with Prof. Saschko Gawriloff in Cologne.

Natasha Korsakova plays a precious instrument, the Stradivarius-Vuillaume “Messiah”, made in Paris in 1870.
